About the Albert and James Lyon Camp No. 266

The Albert and James Lyon Camp No. 266 of the Department of Michigan, SONS OF UNION VETERANS OF THE CIVIL WAR (SUVCW) is named in honor of James F. Lyon and his brother Albert Lyon. The death of James F. Lyon in 1946 marked the last member of the GAR in the UPPER PENINSULA of Michigan. His brother, Albert, was mortally wounded at the 1864 Battle of Kennesaw Mountain, GA. Camp No. 266 is in honor of the original Lyon Post No. 266 at Menominee, MI, Menominee County from 1884 to 1929.

Camp No. 266 meets bi-monthly on the first Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The following meetings are scheduled to meet in the Conference room on the ground floor of the D. J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans at 425 Fisher St. in Marquette, MI :
