Brother Robert K. Hoffman, PCC

Brother Robert K. Hoffman, PCC, of Austin Blair Camp No. 7, a life resident of Eaton Rapids, MI, died December 14, 2012 at the age of 65 at a Lansing hospital following complications after surgery. Born October 16, 1947, Bob was an Eaton Rapids High School graduate, class of 1965 and also served in the Naval Reserve. He began his career with the City of Eaton Rapids as a full time fire fighter serving more than 20 years with that position. Bob was 2 weeks short of retiring with the city in the Department of Public Works. He was the historian for the Eaton Rapids area not only for the city but also for the local Historical Society. He was a member of the Sons by virtue of his GGGFa, Pvt. John W. Lathrop, 1st Michigan Sharpshooters and his GGGUncle, Pvt. Nicholas I. Archabold, 2d U.S. Infantry. In addition to the SUVCW, he was a member of Amvets and Eaton Rapids Congregational Church. Bob was a former instructor for the Michigan Fire Fighters Council and a former EMT. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years Jo Hoffman (of 208 Holmes St., Eaton Rapids, MI 48827), 3 children, 2 granddaughters, a great grandson, 2 brothers, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. For those so desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Austin Blair Camp #7 in memory of Robert K. Hoffman.
