Robert “Bob” Mulvihill, D.D.S.

Brother Robert “Bob” Mulvihill, D.D.S., died at home (10501 N. Meridian Rd., Pleasant Lake, MI 49272) on May 21, 2012. He had been hospitalized since mid-April following a fall at home. Born in Chicago April 11, 1936, Bob attended Kalamazoo College and WMU before receiving his degree at the University of Detroit. While at Kalamazoo, he met and married his life-long friend and companion, Roxie Lou Linderman. They have four sons, eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Not only did he perform in many community theaters, barbershop choruses, quartets and his church choir, he and Roxie performed living history as Gen. (and President) U.S. Grant and Julia Dent Grant. They were familiar personae at many area Civil War activities.

Bob joined Austin Blair Camp No. 7 March 11, 1998, by virtue of his Great Grandfather Pvt. Charles F. Mulvihill, Co. B, 110th New York Vol. Infantry, who served August 13, 1862-August 28, 1865.

Much can be written about Bob including his service in the U.S. Navy, his work as a dentist at the Southern Michigan Prison and his volunteering at Allegiance Health (formerly Foote Hospital) in Jackson. But his pleasant, hale-fellow-well-met personality made him stand out in any crowd, no matter what role he happened to be playing at the time.

A memorial service will be held later this summer.
